HERITAGE ACRES BOOKING GUIDELINES

We generate all our annual operating and development funds from events and bookings held at Heritage Acres and we THANK YOU for your donation for the booking. The Museum and Park do stay open to the public even during your booking. “Private Function” signs are available for the chapel and the school on request. All that you see at this facility is a result of the hard work of our volunteers and from donations from members and the general public.

MUSEUM GUIDED TOURS

are available, with advance booking in order to organize the necessary volunteers. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Along with a tour of the museum buildings, blacksmith demonstrations and a tractor pulled tour of the park are available on the Heritage Express.

PICNICS or PARTIES

can be booked on the park grounds we require a booking for all picnics over 6 people in order not to conflict with other bookings. You must bring your own BBQ.

PANTRY

this building is available (for a fee) for picnics. It includes freezers, sinks, coffee machines, food prep areas, power plugs and a serving window onto the picnic area. You must bring in your own BBQ for your event. if serving food to the public you will need to register for a temporary concession permit at www.viha/mho/food

CHAPEL

. The non-denomination Chapel can be booked for weddings and other services. The Chapel holds a maximum of 45 people, ideal for a small gatherings.

SCHOOL MEETING ROOM

. Meetings or other gatherings can be held in the school meeting room which can be set up for meetings with a head table or with long tables or with small 4 seat tables. The maximum allowed in the school is 70 people. 50 can comfortably sit down for a meal. A limited number of tables and chairs are available on site and can be set up and put away by the client.

SCHOOL KITCHEN

the school kitchen is suitable for food service in the school and has fridge, stove, sink, coffee machines, and serving window into meeting room. Additional washroom facilities are also located in this building.

LIQUOR LICENCES

can be obtained through liquor stores, you will require a copy of the booking document from Saanich Historical Artifact Society to add to your application.

TRAINS

Can be booked by contacting the Vancouver Island Model Engineers. Go to www.vime.ca and click on the Running days/booking button for the on line application form …. you will get a confirmation back from VIME regarding your booking availability.

RULES

Children

must be supervised and kept safe in the park, please prevent your children from damaging the park and its artifacts.

Dogs

must be under control and on leashes and please pick up after them, including on the trails, which are maintained by volunteers.

Decorating

for your event is allowed but please make sure you suitable low tack tape that does not damage the surfaces around the buildings and the park. Remove all decorations when you leave.

Candles and confetti are not permitted.

Garbage

must be put into the blue barrels, boxes are also located around the grounds for products that can be recycled, please help us be green. For a large party a garbage removal is available for a fee.

Parking

is provided in the parking lot, handicap or supply vehicles are permitted into the main park area, but must adhere to speed limits as posted 15 km/h.

Clean up

and removal after your event is the responsibility of the booking party. A clean up fee may be forwarded to the contact person if clean up not completed.

WHERE POSSIBLE WE ADVISE THAT YOU ATTEND THE PARK AND SPEAK TO THE VOLUNTEER ON DUTY BEFORE YOUR EVENT TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE SITE.

THAT WAY YOUR EVENT WILL GO SMOOTHLY AND BE A GREAT SUCCESS FOR YOU.
